Welcome to the Diamond Eight Billiards blog!

We will use this blog to post news items of note, primarily concerning the APA league hosted at Diamond Eight Billiards. Diamond Eight is located in Latham, New York, just a few miles from New York's capital city, Albany. Diamond Eight features a full-service bar, 17 pool tables, a billiard table, lots of TVs, QuickDraw, video games and a great menu of sandwiches, salads and more!

Diamond Eight team takes 5th place in 9-Ball National Championship!

Blue's Cues made a great debut in Las Vegas as they tied for fifth place in the 2007 APA National 9-Ball Team Championship! A record 333 teams competed in the tournament, held at the Riveria Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas August 17-25. We are so proud of you! Great job!

Congrats to Frank's Rackers and Rack 'em Up (also Sunday night teams) who made great showings in the 8-Ball National Team Championship, which featured a record 689 competing for the $25,000 top prize. "Frank's Rackers" led by Frank Rich, tied for 129th while Mike Goodspeed's "Rack'em Up" finished tied for 513th. Great effort!

7th Annual Golf Tournament

The 2007 Edward M. Skawinski Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region was another huge success!

With a full roster of golfers and a great reception afterwards, we again raised $4000. to benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region!

Congratulations to Tom Acciavatti, Mike Hilland (who chipped in for eagle!), Pat Hopkins and Bill Bluto for their awesome 12 under score to win the tournament. Ted Ruzinski, Sean Kiernan, Bill Kiernan, and Dean Halpin were second with 10 under. Great shooting!
